What is it? It all turns to rust.

It’s the top of a barbecue grill left outside. The blue thing is the vent dial you use to let out the heat and smoke.

I’m not entirely happy with this image, speaking frankly. The focus is just a tad off. I think it’s fine for instagram; most of what I post there is low rez. But it’s not going up on Flickr, because the flaws would be readily apparent.

Why do I post an image I’m not entirely happy with?

Well, first, no image is ever going to be perfect. If you get hung up on that, you’ll become paralyzed.

Secondly, there’s stuff to be learned from the ones I’m not entirely happy with. I like the colors and composition of this image, but I don’t like the focus. It’s not all bad, in other words. There’s just room for improvement, which is one of the objectives of this blog.

Next time I’ll be more aware of getting something more in focus.

Update: I found a better image and I’ve swapped out the slightly out-of-focus one.
