Macro: Spin me

One thing I struggle with is the post-processing. What looks best is very much a judgment call. In this case, is the photo too bright? In Lightroom terms, that question is more complicated–there are a few different ways to tinker with the perceived brightness of an image–but, basically I look at this image an wonder if it’s a little too bright.

On the other hand, I have to stop myself, sometimes from making an image too dark.

You see the problem.

It’s a struggle to find that balance in post-processing. Maybe there’s really no perfect solution, and over time I’ll just develop a better eye for figuring out what looks good.

Maybe, years, later, I’ll look at this photo, again, and say it was too bright. Or maybe I’ll look back and just say it was a good start.
