Life stuff: Three green lipsticks and red bag

I took this photo for a contest whose theme was contrasting colors.

I’m trying to enter contests, regularly. I have two reasons for doing this. One, is to build the all-important, artist CV. That’s good. If I’m going to get recognized and respected for my art, I have to do things that get recognized.

The other reason, maybe more important than the first, is contests help me grow as an artist. They make me think about possibilities. This contest made me think more about colors and how important and striking contrasting colors can be.

On a side note, this image intentionally references Wayne Thiebaud’s lipsticks.
