The riddle of the sphinx

At first glance, this looks like just another photo of people walking around at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. It was one of a few photos I took of people doing mundane things, a bit of a photographer’s nervous habit: Can’t think of anything else to photograph; guess I just take photos of random stuff.

When I first looked at this in the camera, I didn’t think much of it. But then I saw it, again, after uploading it to LightRoom. And then I realized what I had–one of those great captured moments from life. Sometimes, things just come together and you have a good, maybe great, photo.
