Going noir: Night work with alert dog

I love taking a photo that feels very different than what you might see with your eyes. There are lots of elements in this photo that give it a noir feel: the low angle shot through the balusters, separating the viewer from the subject, like bars; the darkness of the passage and the subject in light; and finally, the dog who hears something.
