Am I a photographer?
Am I a photographer?
I guess one way to look at it is to ask the question, Am I an artist? Since I think everyone is an artist, or at least has an artist inside them, I believe that anyone who picks up a camera is a photographer.
But I want to be a good, dare I say, great, photographer.
So this little blog is a record of my journey from complete neophyte to, hopefully, good (great?) photographer. At some point this blog might morph more into a portfolio. I’m trying new themes, so the look of it will probably change in a few weeks.
Do I know much about photography?
Not really. I know the basics. For one reason or another, I’ve dabbled in it all my life. I know about aperture and depth of field, plus I have a bit of an art background, so I have an understanding, I think, of what goes into making a good photo. In spite of years of dabbling in photography, I’m still starting from scratch. I’m a beginner, in other words.
Now, I’m armed with a new camera, the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III, and I’m using it every day, so I’m into it.
It’s the first step on a never-ending journey. Even if I don’t end up a “great” photographer, it’s a journey well worth taking.
