Guild Wars 2: Some thoughts about the launch

I’ve been pretty busy playing Guild Wars 2. I’ve started three characters – a human thief, a sylvari mesmer and a nord ranger. I plan on playing others, but I’ve been so caught up in playing my thief I haven’t succumbed to alt-itis, yet. My thief is level 10, now. Here are a few observations:

1. The launch went pretty smoothly.

There some problems with people getting network errors, but overall it seemed like a pretty smooth launch, especially when you consider how many gamers were eager to play this game.

2. The Digital Deluxe Edition probably isn’t worth it.

I paid the extra money for it and the bonus items are nice – mobile banker, xp boosts and a mini pet – but it’s a lot of extra money for those items. It would’ve been nicer if they had included some armor skins.

3. The Hall of Monument rewards are sweet

I only have 11 points in the Hall of Monuments, but the rewards are very nice. The armor and weapon skins are very sharp looking.

4. World versus World PvP is a lot of fun

There’s so much to do in the WvW PvP you can lose yourself in it for hours.

5. The storylines are very interesting.
